Out of control ‘Crown Fire’ forces 2,000 evacuations near Palmdale (VIDEO)

PALMDALE – 6:37 am – Firefighters were planning an aggressive air attack at first light Friday against a large brush fire that has destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuations of more than two thousand residents west of Palmdale in northern Los Angeles County.

The “Crown Fire” near the 14 Freeway in Agua Dulce has chewed through more than 5,500 acres since it broke out around 3 p.m. Thursday north of Sierra Highway at Anthony Road.
